CFS offers a challenging and diverse college preparatory curriculum in a private school setting that is aligned with state and national standards.

Overview

  • The academic year begins in early September and comes to a close in early June.
  • The program includes thirty-six weeks of instruction, with holidays at Thanksgiving, Christmas, and in the spring and fall.
  • Parents receive reports regarding their student’s progress eight times a year.
  • Formal parent conferences are held three times per year.

Support

Academic support is offered through the Learning Center, the Instructional Technology Center, the Guidance Department, faculty academic assistance, peer tutors and the advisor program.

Assessment

  • Our students take the CPT IV exams each year, which are published by the Educational Records Bureau. This is a nationally-normed, standardized test that we use to determine the best way to assist our students.
  • Sophomores and juniors take the PSAT exam, which allows them to practice the skills needed to be successful at taking the SAT exam in their junior and senior years.
  • All students take the SAT exam, and we encourage them to take it more than one time. The scores over the last five years have averaged approximately 500 on both the verbal and mathematics portions of the exams.
